This image was one of many captured by Lt. Cmdr. Gary Brunette, a United States Public Health Service (USPHS) officer, who'd been deployed the Caribbean nation of Haiti shortly after the country's earthquake in January 2010. Set out atop some sections of burlap, these local fruits, vegetables, and sacs of various grains were for sale inside one of the country's Internal Displaced Persons (IDP) camps with its many makeshift tent homes.

This was a turtle display tank inside a pet store, which featured a red-eared slider turtle,Trachymys scripta elegans, that was swimming in his aquarium. Care need be taken when purchasing turtles, for the consumer needs to know that these reptiles can potentially carry germs known as Salmonella, which can be dangerous, especially to children.
