It’s International Infection Prevention Week and Get Ahead of Sepsis has launched new resources encouraging healthcare professionals and patients toget ahead of infections that can lead to sepsis and toact fast is sepsis is suspected.

The theme is this year’s International Infection Prevention Week is antibiotic resistance. Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection, including those caused by drug-resistant bacteria. It is life-threatening, and without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly cause tissue damage, organ failure, and death.
